[ There's a long, uncomfortable silence as Croix reads that. She remembers the earlier fight. She'd done so much harm to Chariot. Guarantee her safety, huh? ]
Basically? When someone dies...is murdered. I'll text you to let you know.
Then, you have to...well, there's no good way to put this, but you have to mess with the death scene a little bit. Hide things, or change things, or add things to it.
Basically, you have to make it harder for everyone to guess who committed the crime correctly.
Also, sometimes, we might have you do other errands, but...it's primarily...that first thing.
I know. There is the possibility that she could die. I can't guarantee someone won't try to target her. I'll do my best to make sure nothing happens to her.
But if something does happen to her, and you get through this alive...
I will make sure she comes home with you. Alive, as well, and unharmed.
[ Forbidden magic. But Croix's never really been one to care about what's forbidden. If they'd found a way past the problems that present in her world... ]
The two women in the foreground...the one on the right is wearing a hospital gown, has short, light brown hair, and blue eyes that are wide as saucers. Probably because she is glowing, as if having popped out of nowhere with a gentle light, as she stares at the woman on the right. There are confused tears in her eyes.
The woman on the right has long black hair, and a sad smile on her face, with tears on her face. She's a bit blurry, as if she's rushing towards the other woman. On her side of the screen is what looks to be a ring of static, and within it...what looks to be the view of a very dingy, but still very futuristic, city skyline.
The third woman, way in the background, is too blurry to really make out, other than that they are tall and...well, it's too dark to make out entirely what she looks like, but it's definitely a woman, huddled over, somehow. She could be wearing a veil, and her skin looks...off?
That's obviously not the focus, though. The focus is the foreground reunion.
And it definitely doesn't look to be temporary, either.]
[ Her grip tightens on her phone for a moment. So, then. There's their proof. She's going to look it over a few moments, then close out. She's wearing an expression she's worn a lot of times. It's neutral, but more so that the emotions beneath can't be read more than anything else.
She closes out of the chat and goes about her business. ]
[After a little bit, Croix's phone pings one more time, revealing an unread message that Croix may read at her pleasure.]
